The course: a mining valley put back to work
The resort calls itself "The Valley Reborn": the layout runs through a valley that was mined for tin, and some of the old mining equipment still sits beside the fairways. Limestone hills close the valley on several sides, so the setting feels very different from the coastal courses on Phuket itself.
Two holes carry the reputation. The 10th is a par 3 to an island green, listed at 215 yards from the back in our course register and 213 yards on the resort's current layout page; from the forward tees it is shorter. On the 16th, a par 4 of 324 yards from the back, the drive has to carry a former open-cast pit.

Best months and heat
Phang Nga shares Phuket's Andaman calendar. November to April is the dry season and the busiest; the southwest monsoon brings rain from May to October, when agent prices drop. Climate references put September at around 325 mm of rain on Phuket against about 35 mm in January.
Daytime highs sit around 31 to 34°C all year. Tee off before 8:00 or after 14:00, carry more water than you think you need, and keep an umbrella in the bag. Tee times start at 6:00, so a first-light round is possible if you stay nearby or leave Phuket early.
Getting there and how to book
By yourself. Book direct with the resort: +66 76 592 999 or the email on the club's rate page. Ask for the current visitor rate and whether caddie and cart are included. From Phuket you drive north off the island toward Phang Nga town; allow about an hour from the airport and more from Patong or Kata. There is no public transport that makes sense for golfers, so arrange a car both ways. The resort also sells a Stay & Play (one round plus one night), which removes the drive back after the round.
With us. Our hosted golf day costs from THB 31,900 per person with three guests: the host plays all 18 holes with your group, with hotel transfer, caddie, cart and lunch included. The standard golf-day courses are Blue Canyon, Red Mountain and Laguna. Katathong is not on that list, but the host can arrange a round there on request; we confirm availability and the price for your date before anything is booked.
